Leisure World (2016 - Ongoing)

Time Off. In moments of life when we are supposed to have the greatest amount of freedom, do we actually make choices that foster a sense of belonging and connection?

Through the allegory of people at leisure with nature – one of human kind’s most intimate and symbiotic relationships – Leisure World looks at the character and complexities of our actions while spending non-working time in the company of nature.

I look for settings resembling a stage setting. Faces are deliberately avoided or masked out; the figures are intended to stand in for us rather than identities speaking out within the scene.

The photographs do not attempt to provide answers or conclusions; Leisure World rather raises questions about the state and character of our actions in occupying these recreational settings.
